This policy explains what VideoYo collects, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have — including how we handle data from Google when you connect a YouTube channel.
00:01 --> Who we are
VideoYo is a cloud video service from CASTUS. It hosts and streams video, generates captions, translations and audio descriptions, runs live streams and channel pages, and connects to playout servers and, if you choose, to your YouTube channel. In this policy "VideoYo", "we" and "us" mean the service and the company that runs it.
This policy covers app.videoyo.net, watch.videoyo.net, player.videoyo.net, videoyo.net and the VideoYo APIs and ingest servers. Questions go to help@videoyo.net.
00:02 --> What we collect
Your account
Your name, email address, the company you belong to, your role and permissions in it, and your password, which we store only as a salted hash. We keep records of sign-ins and of the email notifications we send you.
Your content
The videos, audio, images and documents you upload, the live streams you send us, recordings of those streams, and the settings you give them (titles, descriptions, tags, thumbnails, channel pages and playlists).
What we make from your content
Transcripts, captions, translations, audio-description scripts and narration, transcoded copies for streaming, and thumbnails.
Usage and billing
Your credit balance and charges, the minutes and files we process for you, storage used, and the bandwidth your streams and videos use.
Live streams
For each stream key: when it connects and disconnects, the IP address of the encoder that sends to it and of players that pull from it, and technical details of the stream (codec, resolution, frame rate and bitrate).
Viewers of your channels and players
When someone watches your videos or streams, our delivery network logs the request, including the viewer's IP address, which we use to measure bandwidth and keep the service secure. Our player may also report playback diagnostics such as errors, buffering and the quality played; when a browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track it reports only a bare count with no device or browser details. Channels that ask viewers to sign in collect the viewer's email address to send a one-time sign-in code.
Cookies and browser storage
We use your browser's storage to keep you signed in and to remember preferences such as your theme. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics or tracking scripts.
00:03 --> How we use it
- To provide the service: store, transcode, stream and deliver your content; caption, translate and describe it; run your live streams, recordings and channel pages.
- To bill you for what you use and to show you your usage.
- To send you the emails the service needs (for example, an audio description is ready) — you can turn optional ones off in your account settings.
- To support you, and to diagnose and fix problems.
- To keep VideoYo and its users secure, prevent abuse, and meet our legal obligations.
00:04 --> AI and automated processing
Captions, translations and audio descriptions are produced automatically. To do this your content is processed by services running inside our cloud provider, Amazon Web Services: Amazon Transcribe (speech to text), Amazon Translate (translations), Amazon Polly (narration voices) and Amazon Bedrock, which runs the AI models that write audio descriptions (Anthropic's Claude models).
VideoYo does not sell your content and does not use it to train AI models. The output is a draft for you: you can review and edit every caption and description before you publish it.
00:05 --> Google and YouTube data
VideoYo uses the YouTube API Services to restream your live streams to your YouTube channel. You decide whether to connect a channel; nothing is shared with YouTube until a company owner or manager connects one and turns restreaming on for a stream key.
What we access and store
- The permission you grant when you connect: manage your YouTube account (the
youtube.force-sslscope). We use it only to create live streams and live broadcasts on the channel you connect, bind them together, start and end them, and read their status. - The channel's ID and title, to show you which channel is connected.
- The access and refresh tokens Google issues, so VideoYo can run your broadcasts while you are away. They are stored encrypted at rest in our database and are never shown to anyone, including you.
- For each stream key you restream: the YouTube stream and broadcast IDs and the broadcast's status.
How we use and share it
Only to run the broadcasts you ask for. We send your live video to YouTube's ingest servers for the restreams you turn on. We do not use Google user data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not share it with anyone else except as needed to provide the feature, to comply with the law, or with your permission. Our staff access it only when you ask us for support, or to keep the service secure or meet a legal obligation.
VideoYo's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Your control
- Disconnect the channel from your company page in VideoYo: we revoke VideoYo's access at Google, delete the stored tokens straight away, and stop all restreaming to it.
- Or revoke VideoYo's access from your Google Account at security.google.com/settings/security/permissions: VideoYo can then no longer reach your channel. Email us and we will delete the stored data.
By connecting a YouTube channel you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
00:07 --> How long we keep it
We keep your account information while your account is open, and your content until you delete it — this includes audio descriptions, which are kept until you delete them. Live recordings are kept according to your stream key's recording settings until you delete them. Billing records are kept as long as the law requires. Delivery and diagnostic logs are kept only as long as we need them to measure usage, bill and keep the service secure.
When you delete something it is removed from our systems; copies in backups expire on their own schedule. To close your account and have its data deleted, email help@videoyo.net.
00:08 --> Security
The portal, our APIs and video playback use HTTPS, and stored data is encrypted at rest. (Live streams sent from an encoder over RTMP travel unencrypted, as that protocol does.) Passwords are stored only as salted hashes, stream keys and connection tokens are never shown in logs, private videos are delivered through signed, expiring links, and access inside a company follows the permissions its owner sets. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach that affects your data we will tell you.
00:09 --> Your choices and rights
You can see and change your account details and email preferences in the portal, download and delete your content, and disconnect YouTube at any time. You can also ask us to give you a copy of your personal information, correct it, or delete it — email help@videoyo.net. Depending on where you live (for example the European Union, the United Kingdom or California) you may have further rights, and we will honor them.
If you are a viewer of a channel run by one of our customers, that customer decides what is published; contact them, or us, about your information.
00:10 --> Children
VideoYo is a service for organizations and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
00:11 --> Where your data is stored
VideoYo stores and processes data in the United States, in Amazon Web Services regions us-east-1 (Virginia) and us-west-1 (California). Video is delivered to viewers through Amazon CloudFront's worldwide network.
00:12 --> Changes to this policy
We will post any change here and update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we will tell account owners by email before it takes effect.
